I just recently installed the adjustable short throw shifter from Ultimate Performance and i noticed that after i put it into any of the gears i can push the shifter back and forth and it still stays in that gear. Would that mean a loose cable connection? I have no other ideas.

ugh...i have nothing good to say about Ultimate Performance. The cold air box i got from them required heavy modification for me to even be able to close my hood. AND it was expensive as hell! After an hour with the grinder it looks badass though.
first thing i'd do is pull the boot up and look over the linkage...make sure you didnt forget to tighten any bolts.

I will check out the linkage. Are there any other short throw shifters made for the 3KGT out there? I looked at that ultimate performance air box and thought about it but now that i heard you had such a hard time with it i probably wont get it. Thanks for the warning. Just out of curiosity would any one happen to know of a good Performance shop in Illinois for 3000gt's close to Naperville??

there was a thread in this forum a long time ago about a DIY short throw that cost like 5 bux in parts. you might have to do a little searching to find it though.

ive got a short-throw im willing to part with. unfortunately i dont know any of the specs or even who makes it. It was in the car when i got it but i removed it becasue it was hard to find 5th gear. Dont know if it was the shifter itself or if it just wasnt properly installed. lemme know if your interested and ill snap a few pics for you.

Hey BlinkRA182 could you take a few pics for me? I just want to see what it looks like to compare it to mine and then I will decide if it looks good. Thanks I really appreciate it.
