Hello everybody!! This is my first post so help me out. lol

I am looking to sell my Chevy s-10 Extreme for a Lincoln LS, but im seeing a lot of people complaining about them, so what should I do.....?

I found a 2001 Lincoln LS for $10,400 with 87,000 it runs great and passed inspection, however they had to replace the tirods and the bushings, I haven't bought it yet, but it looks amazing, so please tell me what you think!:grinyes:

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

With any forum, you will find people frustrated with their cars that post negatives. It's similar to the concept that bad news always travels faster than good news.

That being said, yes, the Lincoln LS has its share of issues, particularly the 2000 and 2001 model years. Many of the common issues had been worked out by late in the 2002 model year.

From the Lincoln LS forum main page, toward the upper right of the page, you will find a "Search this Forum" button. Select that and search for the keyword "common." You should get quite a few hits of postings addressing some of the common issues to look for and/or anticipate.

My wife has a 2002 LS V6 and I have a 2004 LS V8. When I bought my LS, I also had a Dodge Stealth twin turbo. I soon traded in the Stealth for an SUV since the LS was so much fun to drive, I didn't feel I needed the Stealth any longer. She and I have both been very pleased with our LS's.

I wish I had more input, how does a 2001 Lincoln LS fair against the others? Does anyone not have problems with their car?

the 2001 is much better than the 2000 - however - still suffers from the valve gasket issue - $70 in parts but a day to swap them DIY.

the 2003 had some new version issues. 2004+ was good, more power, ...etc - however many owners that had both pre03 and 03+ say the car lost a little driver feeling in 03+

I have a 2001 - very few problems - VC gaskets, foggy headlights, broke the hydraulic fan hose. all easy DIY fixes.

not bad considering how hard I am on my car....

So did you buy your 01 brand new??
How much money do you think you spent on repairs? How many miles does yours have? By the way your car is kick ass . nice ride bro

yes - new - $43k

repairs - I do them all myself - so very little - $200 maybe...

I have 45k miles on it now - but I am in SCCA Solo2 - so those are fairly 'spirited' miles.....

and with all the mods - it's much harder on the car than usual.
