Red Warning Brake Light

I have a 2001 GA SE, and had the BRAKE LIGHT lit up in my dash for quite a while and of course the Cruise Control wouldn't work:banghead:. Wasn't the e-brake, level sensor or low brake fluid or any thing I could find on the web, or my Haynes. The dealer wouldn't give me advice when I took it in for a recall. Last night I was again looking at my brake fluid reservoir and decided to semi-drain and add some clean fluid. When I noticed something at the bottom was movable so I poked it out and noticed it was some type of floater with a little magnet at the bottom. :cwm27: I refilled with fresh fluid and put the floater back in making sure it didn't float down. BINGO!!! my BRAKE LIGHT went OFF!! That's how the brake level sensor gets triggered:eek:. Of all the cars I have owned never did I see this piece in there. This drove me:screwy:!!! I just thought I'd share this with you in case anyone ever gets this problem.
