Skoda Fabia WRC Redbull

Hello everybody

I start to post my first project with this Fabia WRC from Reji. I love this WRC car but this kit isn't very good :banghead: and there are some mistakes.

So, first step :

Then i work on the dashboard wich is wrong because in the kit a lot of piece are for the 2004 version and this Fabia i a 2005 version:

I work too on the central consol where there is the onboard computer (the same as the focus wrc '05)

This WIP is very quick because i finish this car since 2 months. I hope that you like it and if you have some questions, i will do a pleasure to answer you :sunglasse

Wow! That is so nice :) Do you have more pictures from the work in progress?

I would love to build this one myself and hope I will be able to sometime in the future.

How was the kit? I've read several times that it is a bad kit but what is the biggest problems with it?

Very nice build, the color is nice and the diorama looks very fine !
I also would like to see more pics of the WIP, especially some of the HANS system.
would you give us more explanations about the difficulties you encontered with this kit ?
the work done to modify or improve the kit ?

- Firstly I bought this kit because the Fabia WRC is one fo my favourite WRC cars. So i have to buy a Reji kit (not very simple for my first resin !)
There were some problems with resin parts: some bubbles, broken parts.
Moreover, for this version the kit was quite wrong (dashboard, rollcage, central consol, gearbox,...) so i made this modifications for my pleasure and to look like very truth.
The big problem for me are the decals : they were very brittle and it's very hard to work with it. The redbull logo and the trand redbull on the bottom are broken. But I saw in czech website, models wich were very beautiful within default. So it's possible to have a good result with experience.

- Sorry but i don't have for the moment precise pictures of Hans system. I make it with plastic card simply.

- What kind of work pictures you would have because i don't have them a lot

Pics of the WIP that would please me are for example some close up of the modifications you've made...

I've started the 2003 version which I wanted to detail as much as possible but I still haven't finished it... So it would please me to see how you did yours.

That looks fantastic! I have the same kit, still waiting to work on it in earnest. I am also planning to do a diorama, perhaps a starting-line scenario. I'm also fiddling with putting the Fabia body and roll cage on a Tamiya or Hasegawa chassis, for a little more detail. True, the chassis and suspension won't be 100% accurate, but they would be more accurate than whatever is under there now, and besides, I don't know what the underside of the Fabia really looks like anyway :)

If any of you guys have some reference photos, I would love to see them, especially the interior and roll cage.

Excellent work, I like the cotton wool snow effect. A tiny comment is that the crew's uniform looks a little shiny. Would have been better if it were a matt finish. But hey they are inside the car and at the end of the day, it's your model. :wink:

- For the pilot i made a mistake because i use a shiny color while i want to use a matt color. I not like very much but i didn't want to make the pilots once again.

- For the modifications i don't have more picture but if you want precise detail i will be able to make some photograph when i come to my home.

I make in scrath the black computer, the handbrake, i cut the gearshift for it would be more small.
I cut the bottom part of the dashboard to make that :

I like the pilot and the fabia wrc version of course !! It's a 2006 version with some modifications on the body and this time Reji not make the same mistakes as my fabia version. We will see if I buy it or not....

I am going to build the 2005 Rally de Monaco version. Don't know which driver yet. But as it is the early 2005 version, I'm hoping that I won't have to adapt the dashboard.

What brand is your fabia because Reji made only : The Adac 2004, Swedish 2005, Redbull and Kizzme 2006 and now Kopecky 2006 ?

The drivers on this rally were Schawrz and Bengué :wink:
Sorry but since this rally (Monte-Carlo 2005), the version is the same as Ekstrom version like me so you have to work on the rollcage, dashboard, ...

more informations that need to be said I think:

- 2005 version changed during the season, and all cars at least from german rallye (even Mexico if I'm not wrong) have different rear spoiler and wing.

- Reji first release was 2003 or 2004 german rally in the same kit... and it was already false because both cars were different, 2003 fabia was modified in SR 2003 with its first evolution (dashboard for example)

- Reji 2006 version redbull and kizz-me are corrected version for the outside but I don't know for the inside.

- according to me best references for Fabia are in the "Slideshow" books, I have them from 2003 to 2005 (missed 2006 - issued later in 2006 - till today)

- I have many pics of 2005 and 2006 cars at german rallies I can share if you need pics.

Hi Loeb 05. Your Skoda Red Bull is one of the most beautiful Skoda that I've ever seen. Your creativity and pacient were part of your success. I know that the Reji kits are very difficult to build, but you really did a terrific job with it. Most of the WRC fans know that the reji kits have very important stuff to keep our WRC collections up dated.

Simply amazing.

The Fabia kit I have is also from Reji. It is kitno. 2405, which is the Germany 2003/2004 version.
But according to the pictures I have collected the colour scheme and the car itself (rearwing, frontbumper) are the same for Monaco 2005 (I haven't taken a closer look at the dashboard/interior, so maybe there are some changes necessary too).
The fact that I have to convert/adapt the rollcage was known because of Rallymasters (also great:grinyes:) build.
And of course I'll have to make some new decals, to convert the car to Monaco Rally...

Oh, and I too am looking forward to your 2005 Mitsubishi.:naughty:
As a matter of fact, that is also in my to do pile. So maybe I'll wait a bit longer until you have your Mitsu ready. Might make it a bit easier for me :wink:.
