Oil Pan Replacement

I have a 94 GMC 1500 4wd and the oil pan has started to drip. Can I pull the oil pan without pulling the engine? It looks like it gets a little tricky around the oil cooler lines but it can be done. What about clearing the oil pump when you pull the pan down?

I have a 90 GMC K1500 and a while ago I tore the pan gasket replacing the timing chain. I replaced the pan gasket to fix the problem. You must use a cherry picker to lift the engine.

Fan shroud needs to be removed. I think I needed to disconnect the heater hose at the back of the intake. Oil cooler lines have to come off to get at the pan bolts. Pretty sure the dist was fine but this was a year ago. Unbolt the motor mounts and lift the engine. I was able to get the pan out and install the new gasket.
