97 Rodeo compatibility question

I have a 97 Rodeo with a 3.2. The fuse box and it's associated wiring harness is in need of being replaced. Can I use another year or am I better off getting one from a 97. I have a possible 96 doner available but I'd like to know before getting too far ahead.

If anyone has one I'd be willing to pay for it. You have to take the dash and heater box out to fully get at the whole thing. It goes from the driver's side kick panel across behind the heater box. It doesn't go through the firewall. And it does have a few connectors in each door. It's not to bad getting out about 2 hours work.

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. I basically need the fuse box and everything it attaches to. It's a standard by the way but I can make an automatic work.

Thanks

I work in an auto repair shop...someone tried to wire something into the fuse box, but they put their wire on the non-protected side of a blade fuse and then must have shorted the wire...fuse wouldn't pop and it melted quite a few wires in that harness. I bought the truck for $100 and I think it's worth fixing...4x4 and only 100K.

Your best chance would be with a '96, should be identical to a '97. Pre '95.5 had a different dash and '98+ was a major make over. '95.5-'97 are generally considered generation 1.5 since only some stuff was changed from 1st generation and are kind of an in between model. There are some differences between 95.5 and 96 since it was just an interior change so I dont know if the wiring you need would be the same with those.

Thanks, I appreciate your feedback... I went and looked at the 96 and from what I could tell it looked the same. The guy is pulling it sometime this week so I'll know soon enough. I post a response as to whether it's the same. Thanks again.
