My check engine light came on the other day and the car is not running smooth. Kinda jerky. Anyway I checked the codes and got a 12 and a 43. Can anyone help with this.

If you have a 96 LHS, you should have the OBD-II codes. Not sure what 12 and 43 are. My 2000 LHS actually displays the code on the odometer. It should be Pxxxx. xxxx is a 4 digit code.
Do a web search for "OBD-II codes", you will see all kinds of references.

#12 is Battery disconnect
#43 is Ignition coil # 1 or 2 or 3 primary circuit
