Hello, I was one of those guys that thought my Hybrid was going to get closer to the EPA's miles pergallon, doh. :banghead:
What I am looking for is some info on what the batter under the hood does? And does it tie in with the batters in the back for the hybrid? I was told that the back batters do almust everything.
Thanks,
Jonathon

Try the Toyota Prius part of the forum...
That is where Ford licensed the technbolgy from. The Prius folks have driving the hybrid down to a science.
How come you didn't get the Toyota? Sorry...just gotta ask...my Tribute/Escape has not been the most trouble free...unlike my wife's Toyota. But I am an auto mechanic, so it is just an inconvenice and.... ouch...just cost me $2000 for a transfer case.
Edit: Oops, just venting, because my transfer case went out.

the battery under the hood is for vehicle electronics just like every other escape - the battery in the rear is for the electric motor end only.
