I have a 96' Z34. 2 weeks ago i had a anti-lock light come on and then the volts light, soon after the car died. After being told it was the starter and the battery i had those replaced. Now the problem is back from the dead, i have a guess that it could be the alternator but i just had that replaced nearly a year ago. I would hate to replace it again bcuz its coslty. Any guesses or suggestions?

The charging sytem can be checked in and out of car, so go that route before tossing any more money around. Why would you replace a starter for a stalling probllem? All it does is start the motor as the name suggests. :dunno:
IF, your bettery did not have proper charge on it when the alternator was replaced in the prior year (or this new battery for the matter) then that could cause rpemature death of the alternator.
The ABS system is usually the first system to report insufficiant voltage do to the operating enviornment of most of it's componenets.

I only made mention becasue one of my wife's friends called me once to say that their car keep dying at stop lights, and service writer told him it was because he needs a new starter

That alternator is mounted low in the back. Not only does this make it a dream of a job to change, it makes it run hotter than normal. If the battery was borderline, it probably overheated it and shortened it's life, as wright suggested.

Eeew, I thought only Ford and Saturn were silly enough to do that. Guess it makes some sense since Saturn is under the Gereal's umbrella.
