Stalling Problems for 92 Grand Am 3.3 V6

I am having a problem with stalling. I can start the car fine and idle is where it is supposed to be, however as soon as I put it into gear the car dies. This all happened just recently. I was going down the road at about 45-50mph and the car just died. Let me give a list of things that has been checked.

Fuel pump is working and plenty of gas is getting to the injectors.
Plugs are good and no firing problems.
Modules are good as well.
Crankshaft sensor is good and no problems with it.

Currently we (my Dad) and I have tore the entire left side off to check the timing chain. Once we got to it we noticed slack in the chain and now are in the process of replacing.

My question is this if this does not fix the issue then what else could it be. I have heard that it could be the selonoid. Also the timing marks what/where do the need to be?

try the fuel filter sometimes sluggish from the gas tank gets sucked up and is logged in the fuel filter. when you shut the car off and it sits for a little while the car will start back up because that piece has fallen down inside the flter but as you drive it sucks it up again and shuts the car down. when you would check the fuel pump everything will seem ok. it is the small stuff we seem to miss. it is just a couple bucks for the part may be worth it to see if that is it before spending major money

Welcome to AF totallythere, and thankx for the tips.

Please look at the dates before posting in outdated threads.
We dont need to bring up threads older then 3 months.

.... this is obviously older then that and most likely solved by now.
