Hey all,
I've got an '86 Monte Carlo CL. Bought it off a guy who parked it for 10 years and took real good care of it. Ran GREAT up until recently...
Went to pull out of the driveway, and Reverse wouldn't catch. I than put it in Neutral, and it somehow was in Drive....? Took it out on the road, and it drove fine in all Drive gears, Overdrive worked, and it was smooth as usual. But for some reason Reverse and Neutral are jacked up...
Now a buddy of mine from work mentioned something about a "Nuetral Switch" located somewhere on the Tranny... Was wondering if anyone could tell me where this thing is?
ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Thanks Much
Paul Jr

Check the shift linkage from the console shift to the trans, make sure the nuetral position on the indicator matches neutral in the trans.

try fluid and filter, the nutrel safty switch just keeps it from starting in gear
