I am looking to buy a “cheap” Town Car because my back is done riding in a smaller cars. Found a 91 Signature with 146k miles, looks like it was taken care off by the second owner. Transmission was replaced @ 110k, fuel filter @ 122k, starter, alternator, heater core & EGR valve @ 124k, rear air suspension bladders and compressor @ 139k
I don’t know much about the Town Cars but I heard that suspension parts and transmissions are possible issues. Just wanted to know if this sounds like a decent car to buy for the money.

Thanks,

Well the Kelley Blue Book Value for this car is about $2400 in EXCELLENT condition, $2050 in GOOD condition. I guess he jacked it up a little since he did a lot of work to it. Make sure you ask him for all the paperwork that proves he did this. I had a 92 DeVille that the owner said he did a lot of work to it and that turned out to be FALSE. If the guy is offering $2750, IN MY OPINION i would offer $2550 which is still over book value but if he did do all this work to it, then that is what I would offer him

Well, I actually did it. I bought the Town Car only from a different person, a 93 TC with 86k on it, in what appears to be a pristine condition, but without a single maintenance record. I know it’s crazy :screwy: but I just could not pass the deal $2500, white on white, I love it :grinyes: but now you guys would have to help me bring it up to a tip-top shape & that I guess, is a topic for a different post.

Thank you all!

I need help all the time. Does anyone have a white on white, that is the color of the car I got & I am thinking to tint it, just don't know what tint to oder and to go all around the same number like 35 or 20 or front windows lighter so the cops don't get me.
What would you do?

Thanks,

No tint on mine, I'm in an aquarium :) I've been told by lots of folks to lower it, tint it, add ground effect lighting, 21" rims...

LOL.. no thanks.

Haha when I had mine I was told basically to do the same thing, but the ladies liked it just the way it was :grinyes:

Good luck with your new Town Car! I just got rid of my 95 Spinnaker Edition in December because I needed to buy a 4x4 because I moved to a mountainous area with a lot of snow. HOWEVER, I am considering buying another Town Car to drive around in the summer time because I really miss mine. But the good news is the new owner who has my '95 (who is actually a good friend of mine) is an ex-mechanic so I know the car is in good hands. Any questions you have with your Town Car just let us know. I may not have one for the time being, but I've owned my 95, a 92 Crown Vic, and a 93 Grand Marquis so I've had the Town Car and its brother and sister. And the 4.6L is such a great engine!

No tint on mine either. I guess you need to find out what's the legal limit in your state and take it down a notch.

I've got two 93 town cars rotting out back, that I've been using for parts. Let me know if you need any thing, still a few good parts left on them.

Hey what gives, I've reverted to newbie status. That sucks

I had a 89 TC that was Navy blue on white. I really like the combo, Seen a later model in Florida that was Black on white. That looked good also. But I think the Blue is sharper. Ended up selling it to my son, who proceeded to trash it, now it is ready for the bone yard. He now bought my 95 Merc. Marquis, and I got myself another TC 97.

Mine had the landau roof which was navy blue.
