Can someone confirm this for me

ok i need someone to help me confirm.

here is a copy of the owners manuel for my dvc 2 ohm type r subs.

the manuel says that each voice coil is a 1.85 ohm now can i buy like a 2 or a 4 channel amp and wire each voice coil to the amp is series and get a 1.85 ohm load to a channel? and would that hurt the sub if it is being powered like that.

as soon as you put power to your subs the impendance will jump up to 2 ohm just wire them to 2 ohm a channel unless you have a mono block and then just series them to 2 ohm and into the amp, your subs are pretty much 2 ohm

Yes while if you round the numbers up the its 2 ohm. But you cant change the impendance of a sub, so im not quite sure what you meen by "as soon as you put power to your subs the impendance will jump up to 2 ohm". While some amps wont know the difference, otehrs that might be ore sensitive will go right into protect mode. WHile not all subs are wound to there perfect impendance rating some amps arent as critical as others. Kind of like the JL w3 that was 3 ohm, it would work on 4 ohm amps as long as they where 2 ohm stable but 4 ohm amps that werent stable to a lower impendance would go right into protect.
