Have a 99 GP GT with 3.8 no Super Charge Was doing some PM's on it and notice some cracks in the Serpentine Drive Belt. How many miles do you get out of one and are they a bear to change. It don't look to bad but you never know what's going to happen when you get in to it. Thanks in advance....wiz

I generally get about 60-80K miles for a belt, I'm due to replace mine now. I will be getting a Gatorback (http://www.goodyearbeltsandhose.com/cars/gatopoly.html) belt, this will be my first one. They're supposed to be quieter, better.

I swap mine out at about 75K or as soon as i notice any wear or cracking, and i put the old one in with the spare tire for an emegency spare.

I just did the same thing. Never know if you might need it...

You need a 15mm socket to fit on to the idler pully to take the tension off the belt so you can get the old one off and install the new one. It's fairly easy to do.

Changing the serp belt takes less than 5 minutes. Open the hood, release the belt tensioner, and slip the belt off noting it's routing. Re-route the new belt around the pulleys, and you're done. There are no motor mounts/brackets/pieces in the way like some cars have.
