'02 GP shifting takes longer than normal

Last night I replaced the UIM gasket on my 2002 Grand Prix. I took my time, and was careful to double check all the connections during reassembly.
Today I went on a 40 mile trip, and suddenly the transmission isn't shifting normally. What happens is, it starts to shift into the next gear, but it takes several seconds for the process to complete, and "let go" of the lower gear, if that makes sense. It takes about 3 seconds to get from one gear to the next. This is during normal accelleration. I would NOT describe it as "hard" shifting at all.
The car has 159,000 miles. I've done a tranny fluid and filter change every 30K since the car was new, and my last change was 4K ago. I checked the fluid level when I got home today, it's dead on.
There really aren't very many electrical and vacuum connections that I had to disconnect to do the UIM gasket. I looked around with a flashlight when I got home, and everything appears to be properly connected.
I'd welcome any opinions on this, it's quite perplexing. I am assuming the shifting behavior is a result of something I did last night. Incidentally, I had the battery disconnected for a few hours, if that reset things.

in my experiences a vacume line usualy causes hard shifting but not in all cases. id say kinda reverse the process of what you did go back over everything and re-check it all. i had the same deal with my shift kit. i was careful and made sure i did everything right and put everything back together properly. when i got it all put back together and filled back up i found a bolt to the accumulator on the ground. granted there was still lik 11 other bolts in it but the point is i still messed up even thought i was very careul and took my time.

Well, I just can't find anything amiss. I went over everything I disconnected, and followed what those things were connected to, to see if I inadvertently pulled something loose.
To remove the plenum, I removed the injectors/rails and their wiring; the throttle body and its 4 electrical connectors; a vacuum line from the fuel rails (where the purge valve is); a 1" thick rubber hose down by the exhaust, goes from rear of engine, across exhaust crossover, and down to tranny; the MAP sensor; a couple hoses that plug into the back of the plenum, on a plastic tube. I think that's it.
I guess I'll have to drive it some more and see what happens.

im assuming were talking about a SE grand prix. just for shits man try disconnecting the battery for 15 or so minutes and let everything re-reset itself

Your PCS could be acting up you need to get it scanned and look for a p1811 DTC

Thanks troy, I meant to get back to this thread. Things seemed to work themselves out, the car's been good all week. Gremlins? Hopefully that's the end if it.
