Recently there has been a slew of fake Mugen products going up on Ebay. An interesting one is the valve covers that are going for about 100-$150. They look nice but they're definitely fake so I was wondering what you guys think. The fake ones are also being made for SOHC's so I wanted to get one, but its fake! Other things going up are shift knobs for $30 where real ones are about $74, a real valve cover will set you back a full $800 and theres also shift boots which Mugen doesn't even make. What do you guys think of these products? I'm just making you aware, but feel free to post any comments.

I have seen the SOHC valve covers on eBay. They look nice, but the thing is that Mugen doesn't even make parts for SOHC engines, which is why it wouldn't really make sense to get that part. I guess if you think it looks cool, then it's fine, but I believe that an engine needs to have enough Mugen parts in it to have that cover. I personally would only get real Mugen parts since I'm not a big fan of fakes. If I think that real Mugens aren't worth it, I would just get something else.

Here is the SOHC "Mugen" valve cover:

Though most of the Mugen stuff on eBay is fake, there are a few that are selling real Mugen. This one seller, www.soulracing.com, is putting real Mugen shift knobs on eBay and they are selling for far less than $74. They have been going from $50-$65 in the past few weeks. I just snagged one for an unbelievable $40, which is the best price I've seen yet!!! If you're looking for one of these, try bidding on their auctions. They also sell real Mugen radiator caps.

Here is the real Mugen shift knob I won for $40:

The shift boots are somewhat of a mystery to me, since both sellers who sell them claim that they are either real or shipped from Japan, but I couldn't find evidence that Mugen makes them from any website. That doesn't matter because they look high quality and would sure match my Mugen shift knob. They have been going for around $50 on eBay, but I'm waiting for the price to drop so I can snag a deal!
