WoW.. can you find another PCM..
Difficult deal there ...
What do the codes say?

Actually .. still sounds like the PCM is a bit crazy.. either by poor grounding or voltage sources.

Good LUck .

Obviously the PCM is logging errors. .

Unfortunately hardware is less dependable than board electronics.

Perhaps you could check connections to the Trannie..
However.. Unless the connectors to the transmission are having issues.
PCM. Thats alot of errors at one time unless electronics are of issue.

Still it is an electrical transmission.

Good Luck.
Wait for post interest, check what you find by Moderators.
Perhaps you may get a good on target idea or answer.

I have a '95 Riv that won't shift into overdrive. Started with a slight shutter on the final shift but now wont shift at all. Changed fluid and filter plus put in Lucas reconditioner. Has 130K miles. Is it something simple or complicated? I'm new to site and still trying to figure out how to start a new thread.

Wecome to AF. For a proper diagnosis the trans should be fully scanned for solenoid functions o/d engagement and slippage errors, this could be the usual " stovepipe" internal problem or electrical in nature, thus the reason for the scan. In the future start a new thread, please.

Maxwedge, Thanks for the suggestion. My post did say that I was trying to figure out how to start a new thread, but haven't yet. By your picture, you and I have a little in common... a little. Would most hi-end transmission shops have the equipment for the test or is it strictly a dealer situation?

Just about all trans shops need this type scanner to do trans work on modern cars/trucks. Go to the Riviera forum, upper l/s of page says thread starter. For now stay here though.

Maxwedge,
How possible does this sound? Clutches in lock up converter going away causing the shutter at O/D shift. Floating trash from clutch galding up shift valve because GM put in all aluminum valve/cylinder combo. Thanks for new thread info.... What cid was considered a maxwedge back in the day, 383 or 440 or something else?

426 the only Ramcharger engine in 63/64, 12.5 compression .520 solid lifter cam, pretty hot from the factory. Either one of your scenarios is possible, but would set codes usually, these can be accessed with a full line trans function scanner. The tcc valve bore and valve were the common wear areas in the aluminum VB, there are repair kits to modify/update these issues. Sonnax in VT. for one. This sets code 1870.

Thanks Maxwedge for all of your help. I hate working on this OEM stuff but If I want to get under 4,000 rpm at 70, I'll have to do it... BK
