Hi all,
Just joined this forum, and it looks like a great place to find info.
I was on a road trip last night. Put the driver's side window down and it wouldn't go back up. It was pouring down rain, so I had to pull over and use my knife to take apart the switch box to get the window back up. The switch is bad. Does anyone know what this part is called, or where to get it? It's the box on the driver's side armrest that houses the window and door-lock switches.
Just a side note- my Ford Exploder is the worst piece of crap I've ever bought. So far I've had to replace all 4 wheel bearings, the water pump pulley, the belt tensioner, the rear hub assemblies, the passenger side rear caliper bracket, and after having it in the dealer 4 times they still can't figure out why it sounds like I have a full nest of birds under the hood!
I know you're supposed to be Patriotic and buy American- but I won't waste my money next time around!
Regards,
Scott

Welcome to the forum, I guess. Typically, it isn't in good taste to ask for help from what is typically an enthusiast site, then bad mouth the vehicle you are asking the enthusiasts help with.
That being said, most likely, you can pick up the master window switch from a dealer, salvage yard, or eBay. There are also sites such as Fast Parts Network (http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=318) that sell new OEM parts for typically less than the dealership. Enter the vehicle information and search for the keywords "window switch."

Sir-
I appreciate the reply, and apologize for bad-mouthing the Explorer. I see it differently: My statements aren't unfounded, I was simply stating the problems I've had with my Explorer. Again, sorry if I came off the wrong way.
Thanks for the link- I'll check it out.
