Ok, so insurance company called, and the car isn't totalled. Only problem is, they didn't give me much money for the parts that were stolen. So, I'm going to have to rebuild on a tight budget. and I'm going to need lots of tips on reassembly when that time comes.

First question, when they took off the intake manifold, lots of debris and shit got into the lifter valley. What's the best way to clean all that shit out? Will I have to have it does professionally?

And, since everything is missing right now, could someone tell me what the thing is in the far left of the pic? I know what everything else is and I actually need all that other stuff is too. But i don't know what that one piece is. Thanks.

Use a shop vac to get as much out of the top of the engine as possible. Then...remove the oil drain plug and drain the engine and then run a gallon or 2 of kerosene down through there followed an hour later by a gallon of el-cheapo oil. Put the plug back in and fill with your normal oil.
The thing in the LH side of the pic looks like a valley pan. bolts on the underside of the intake to keep hot oil off the intake manifold.

Ok, so that's how to flush it out? I'll try that. And thanks for identifying the part. Its hard to find pieces of a puzzle when you don't see what it was suppose to look like. I guess once I get all the parts, I'll try start piecing it back together. I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions when that happens.

Just give this a once over. It shows pretty much everything that should be on a LT1 http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech1.html

I've been looking at all the stuff hardcore for the last week or so.
But it looks like some of the sensors are added on to the manifold. But do most of the plugs plug directly into the manifold, or will I have to buy some of them. Like the MAP sensor. Just looking at all the plugs on my engine and the intake manifold, it looks like there are extra things I will have to get for all the plugs to go somewhere. And I don't necessarily know what each plug is suppose to go to. But I heard one is 1 fitting, 1 plug so I shouldn't get confused where each one goes.

2 words when on a budget: swap meet

Might be able to find yourself a whole complete setup :dunno:

I have to say I was very disappointed with the last swap meet I went to. It was suppose to be one of the largest on the east coast too (Englishtown, NJ). Most of the stuff was just trash that people just couldn't sell on the net but I did get a few body parts for a sweet price,.

The big ones are the ones that usually suck from my experience.

In reference to where the plugs go, well they should only fit in one place. And I have yet to run into any that aren't connected to something. I have a 94, So if you have any questions maybe I can give you some first hand visuals.

Are we talking about the harness connectors?. If so, yes they only fit one sensor (except in the case of the two temp sensors and I think two of the other sensors related to air pump and MAF. I think those might have the same plug)

Yeah, I know they only fit 1 sensor, but what sensor? I noticed some of the sensors are added onto the manifold itself.
Take for example the MAP sensor. Obviously, if I had the sensor, I could figure out which plug fits it. But if I have the plugs, and no receptor for it, then I need to figure out what sensor I'm missing so I can replace it.

See, the MAP sensor is bolted onto the manifold, I don't think it comes with the manifold. So I need to figure out which sensors I'll need, not which plug goes with which sensor.

I am sure the only sensor you will need will be associated with the parts they took. Such as the MAP, TPS, Canistor solenoid and so on. Which will come with the manifold if you still plan on purchasing that.

Yeah, I still plan on getting that stuff from ya. Where do you want the money sent? An offshore account so the gov't can't touch it?

Thank you Jeremy, you're the one who pointed me in the right direction. I wouldn't have known who had what if you didn't tell me.

Its just stupid because I shouldn't be looking for replacement parts in the first place. I can't believe how pissed off I still am about this.
