I really don't see what the big deal with becoming a Mod is. I have been a mod on another forum and ended up asking for that status to be removed because it is just a major pain in the ass.
If you don't like the way a thread is heading or what people have had to say then simply report that post to on of the existing moderators and let them handle it. Its soo much easier that way and lets you just enjoy your stay

When you're online checking your e-mail, you have to go check the forum, and when some massive postwhore invasion hits you get to spend your time deleting posts and banning people instead of sleeping. It gets to be a royal PITA after a while.
As for having special options in posts, we really don't get anything awesome. We don't have any special other-worldly abilities to speak of.
That's just my opinion. AF is still a great place, but mods are a)not something we need more of and b)not that fun of a "job" to have anyway.

I agree. Being a mod, has its good points (just generally making AF a better place), but its definitly not easy. More like hell, than heaven....thats for sure.

I agree. Being a mod, has its good points (just generally making AF a better place), but its definitly not easy. More like hell, than heaven....thats for sure.

I joked on becoming a mod, but never really wanted to be one. I'm online enough to be one, but I'm to busy with other things to stay on AF too much lately.

It was a series set in the ol' West with David Carradine as a wandering Shaolin Monk who went about helping the weak and oppressed with his kung fu powers and desire for justice all while looking for his long lost brother.

But, I think that Mods should be chosen for their demonstrated ability to be responsible as regular AF members (as well as other qualities). They shouldn't become mods because they were the first one to think of having a "________" forum... That's ridiculous.
