Dropped In New 350 Engine

Hey I just dropped in a 350 engine for my 93 chevy 1500 P/U, how can I find out what hoses connect to what(throttle body, M.A.P. radiator, etc.), Is there a diagram I can download? THZ

hey there is a hose that comes off the right valve cover(350 engin), can anybody tell me where that goes?? the diagram didn't mention that, THZ

I have a 92, and it may be the same as yours. On mine the hose from the PCV valve in the right rocker cover goes to the front of the TBI.

When looking at the engine, my PVC valve is on the left hand side(passenger), I have that connected to the throttle body, but there is another hose on the right hand side(drivers) is what i'm trying to find out where it goes, do you know about that one?

Right and left side for anything on or in a vehicle is based on sitting in the drivers seat and facing forward. That being said, your pvc should be on the right and should be connected to the front of the TBI near the bottom of the TBI. On my truck, near the back of the left valve cover, there is a steel pipe coming out of a rubber grommet. This pipe connects to a pipe from the back of the TBI near the top. I didn't take off my air cleaner but it looks like theres a small piece of rubber hose connecting the two pieces of pipe.

Ok, i'm not at home but if a remember correctly there was only one connection on the back of the TBI and that was for the MAP Sensor, i will check to see if there is anything else, Also when I start the engine it cranks but shuts off in like 5 seconds, i give it gas but even while doing that it still shuts off, I can see fuel coming out of the injectors, does anybody know what that could be??

This was the diagram that showed me the MAP sensor connects to the back of the TBI.

Mine has the same diagram, but upon closer inspection, it looks like the left side pipe going to the back of the TBI may actually go to the TBI to air cleaner spacer ring.

I don't know what could be causing your not start problem, but I don't think it's a good idea to be pumping a TBI as you would a carburator. I think it has something to do with the throttle position sensor calibrating itself incorrectly when you do that. Is the distributor installed correctly? It may just be too far advanced or retarded. Loosen the distributor bolt and try moving it a little one way or the other and try starting the engine. If it starts, snug the bolt and go for a drive. Does it ping? If not, keep advancing a little bit until it pings while you're driving, then retard slightly. This way you don't need a timing light to set timing.
