I am converting my dx to mpfi I have everything to do it but when I was looking for a automatic ex ecu I found a 91 crx si and took that ecu. I got it for $20 bucks so I figured if it won't work I can sell it and make a small profit. My question is, the MT ecu work with my AT transmission? I really do not see why it would not work...... How hard is it to reprogram the ecu? I could fo cut the harness for the ecu and rig something up but it is not really worth it.

I know the AT ECU will not work with the MT. But I'm not quite sure the other way around.

my friend has a b16a in his car and when he first swapped his motor, the shop gave him an auto p30, which gave him a lower vtec crossover and lower rev limiter. but he just got a manual p30, and now his car runs fucking good. i got to drive it all last weekend. oh his civic is a 5 speed too.
but another guy who had an auto b16 was running a manual p30 on his car, and he wanted an auto. so he switched with my friends one, so it worked out perfect

I would not think that using an MT ECU w/ a AT car would work. The ECU does not have any shift points programmed into it. I would think that if your car actually started...it wouldn't be able to get out of first gear...im just guessing tho. I know that if you have an AT ECU and get it chipped, it gets converted to a MT ECU. hope that helped some... :)
