torsion bar cranks

I have an 01 silverado 4X4. I want to make it sit a little a higher and thought about cranking my torsion bars up. I was wondering how many cranks would be safe. I know they say if you go to far it can tear up your front end compononts. I am aware i will have to get my truck realigned.

thanks

Not entirely sure. But I believe I've read that going 2" is the most you should go. I would personally get some new keys. You would get a better ride.

never crank your torsion bars and use them as a means to lift...you should only use them to level off the front. i would get some new keys if you want to lift it or throw on a suspension lift or body lift. by cranking the torsion bars you will kill any ride quality and also put some serious strain on the front suspension components
