900 clutch life and trans fluid?

Does any one have any idea about how long clutches in 1997 900s will last? Im a gentle driver and the car doesn't see the track.

Also I read in the owners manual that the 5spd. transmission does not need to have the fluid changed ever under normal driving conditions. I don't even see a dipstick in the engine compartment. My SAAB has 80,000 miles on it (still young), should I disregard the manual and think about changing the trans fluid soon?
