oil lines questions

This is for a 97 Blazer,2wd,6cyl..just hit 130k miles.

I'm playing "find that oil leak" on the truck...trying to check the oil cooler lines.
I see the two running from the filter adapter into the radiator area, but I can't find a set going into the engine, as mentioned in other threads on the subject. Can somebody point me in the right direction?

Also, I see the term "remote oil filter" mentioned in several threads. What's this?

Craw under it and find where the oil leak is coming from for sure.
Look on left rear bottom of the engine where oil filter used to be and you should be able to see where the oil filter lines go into the engine.
Follow them back to the oil filter.
Check the oil filter adapter on the engine real close for leaks.
And also for oil leak on top of engine running down.

For the hard to find oil leaks they make a dye kit you can add some dye to the oil and put the special light on it to find out where it is leaking.

Thanks for the reply...but I still only see the one set of lines coming off the filter adapter. Both lines go to the radiator/cooler.

I do think the leak is coming from higher up on the engine anyway at this point (hopefully just a valve cover). Will dig into it more this weekend.

The reason you only have one set of lines is because your truck is 2wd. The filter is on the engine and the cooler lines go to the radiator. On the 4wd trucks the filter is located under the radiator behind a door in the skid plate and have two sets of lines, one from the engine to the filter, and one set from the fliter to the radiator. Korey.

That makes sense. Glad I'm not completely insane.

Check with your parts place for the leak dye kit.
It will pin point them hard to find leaks.
