cold air intake

i know this has nothin to do with a civic but i know most of you guys and gals run cold air intakes on your cars. I own a 2002 f-150 and i was wonderin if a cold air intake would help me out any and i live in florida and its usually hot down here I know this might be stupid but i dont know if the heat has anything to do with it can anyone help me out and tell me if it would help me out by addin one

FYI a cold air intake just means the air is being taken from the outside of the engine bay rather than from the top of the engine where most of your heat is located. A CAI will usually suck air from below the engine or from a fender where cool air rushes in while driving.
