My 92 Talon's fuel pump isnt turning on. I was woundering if it had a main fuel relay, like my civic does. If it does where is it at?

There is a relay for it under the hood... Also, we have a Problem Diagnosis subforum for a reason...

Is it in one of those black fuse boxs?

Why don't you just look in the owners manual? It should be in there.

Yes... It will tell you in the manual which one it is... You can always test it by jumping the relay with a wire...

Another thing you might want to check is the CAS. I'm not sure if this is true for the 1g, but on a 2g, the fuel pump will not be turned on until the ECU receives confirmation from the CAS that the engine is running / starting.

go to Dsmtuners.com and click on the tech and your find what your looking for as far as thing's you can look into to find out why its not turning on.

I dont understand, why most other's did'nt just give this guy a simple answer to his simple question. Instead of helping him you just told him to search rite away. Come on be useful and help instead of being high and mighty.

Excuse me for sounding like a dick but what the hell did you just do?

Does my eyes deceive me? Is this you telling him where to "search?"

Heavens no, that would be too high and mighty to do... :disappoin

Oh and for the record, I didn't tell him to search. I told him where the relay was and told him for more specifics (which relay exactly in the box) he would have to check the manual. That is not telling him to "search."

This place is starting to make me sick... :disappoin

 Take it easy Brian.....

Its a simple problem really, theres only a few things that could have gone wrong. Either A) fuel pump relay, B) the pump took a shit, C) CAS as pointed out by spyderturbo007, D) ECU took a shit, or maybe E) either the signal wire to turn on the pump or the pump's power wire got impared. If you suspected fuel pump relay, you should have gone out and gotten a Haynes manual and found which one it was to check it. We're not your mom, its not our job to hold you hand and point out exactly where it is. You really should have a Haynes manual anyway, they come in handy especially when you dont think you will need them. Check those and see whats up, let us know if none of those fix it.

boyertownmidnight: You gave him less of a straight answer than anyone else did so what the hell are you talking about?

Damnit guys, make me do all the work again! :p

Fuel pump relay is located on right side of center console. See Fig. 3 . Relay senses when power is supplied to fuel pump. If power to fuel pump does not occur during engine cranking or driving, ECU detects fault and sets Fault Code 42 in memory. CHECK ENGINE light will also illuminate. Fuel pump relay is a multi-purpose relay.
