Heated seat wont work after clock sensor replaced

We had the Airbag light come on in our 2002 Lincoln Ls V8 and we took it to the dealership they fixed the airbag light. they said it was the Clock sensor. We didn't need to use the heated seat but now we do and the heated seat doesn't work. Could this be because they may have forgotten to plug something back in or are we screwed.:banghead: I can't take it back to the dealer with out them charging us to look at it again. :evillol:

There are a couple of common causes of the airbag/SRS light coming on, one is the clock spring, the other is wiring under the driver's seat getting snagged by the power seat. The dealer is probably aware of these common issues and may have removed the seat to check the wiring to avoid a comeback in the near future.

Assuming that is the case, they may have failed to plug the seat heater back in. If you're lucky, it will be a simple matter of plugging the connector back in. If that is not the case, chances are pretty good the two are unrelated and just somewhat of a coincidence.

The diagnostic code for the airbag should have indicated a clock spring over an issue with the wiring under the seat (Lamp Flash Code (LFC) 36 versus LFC 32 if I recall correctly). If the dealership knew read the code 36, but went ahead and pulled the seat to make sure the wiring wouldn't be an issue in the near future, I'd say you found a good dealership that went above and beyond, even though they may have failed to plug a connector back in.

Thanks alot Rod!!! Yeah I hope they just forgot to plug it back in. I don't think they would have rearranged the wires cause this happened when we first bought the car and the first or second day we had it the light came on. They were reluctant to fix it in the first place(we bought the car as is) and they said it was a clock spring. Is that located under the seat? I was thinking it was by the steering colom or some where around there.

You're thinking correctly, the clock spring is in the steering column. It is what allows the electrical signals to pass to the steering wheel when the steering wheel is turned.
