Just picked up a new '07 Silverado and so far, I love the 5.3 motor. In my quest to learn all the new technology, please tell me the idea behind floating piston pins.

I think you will find those type of piston pins in expensive higher revving engines meant for race/performance cars.

From what I have learned in school, they allow for movement. They also help with wear.
