Pics of my ported Head

Hey all;
My machine shop guy jut sent me pics of my head. If you don't recall, I got a full street/race port job, 3-angle valve job, decked, washed, valve seals, and the intake manifold ported the whole way through. Here are pics of the final that he took. When I get it in this week or next I'll take more and post them up too. Just need to get a timing belt, retainers/spring set, and gaskets. Also getting the IM powdercoated silver then! Can't wait. It's so slow to being done.

If you're looking for a port job, I recommend Mike's Porting Service (http://www.mikesportingservice.com/). I'm not trying to sound like a commercial here, but this place has been nothing less than perfect. Communication has been excellent the whole way. Every single question was answered perfectly. He knows what he is talking about. And everything went quickly. Sent it out, no problems, and done within a week! Great pricing. I HIGHLY recommend this place for any work such as porting and head work. I don't usually push places, but Mike does a great job and will do the same for anyone.

Yeah well I'm lazy and I'd rather have a pro do it. Lazyness costs. I don't mind though.

If your not worried about spending money why not go with the 5 angle valve job instead?

Die grinders FTW. Porting isnt hard, you just gotta be super careful. I've ported iron and aluminum, and aluminum fucking MELTS off comparted to iron.

I was worried about spending money. I'm not made of it :disappoin However, a 5-angle didn't seem worth it. 3 works fine for my application. Better than nothing.

A 5-angle would be a waste of money on a n/a. There's no way the 420a moves enough air to have the 5-angle make any difference from the 3.

looks clean, how much you pay for that work?

Total was $650. Again thats with a full port on the intake manifold too and the valves are were actually done also. And that includes shipping. Spent a little more than what I was looking to, but I think it will be worth it. I wanted it professionally done, and that's what I got.

Doesnt sound too bad. I though port work was $1000+ usually. Why no exhaust side?

You mean the ports? He did those too. I sent the whole intake manifold and got that totally opened up. The ports are matched on the head and then the chambers are opened up a lot. Exhaust side is opened too. Im going to port match the header myself when I install it. I have to port-match the gaskets also then. I don't have anyother pics of the head right now.

Ha ha.... my buddy had a Celais or whatever. That thing was bad ass yo. It was fuckin peach colored. Peach colored! Well, peach/rust. That thing was rusted to hell and back. One night, we get this great fucking idea that we should paint it. So we painted it blue with spray paint. I tell you what, all those fumes probably took three years off my life. It looked like hell too, mainly because after spraying for a few hours we got tired of doing it plus we had to do it all by flashlight :lol:. We also shot that poor car with our potato cannon, that was pretty fun. One day, smoke started billowing out from under the hood. Mike just called the junk yard, and they came and got it. It was a good car..... ha ha, not.
