well that was that after 4 hard weeks of work, my Lexus has died, the culprit, shitty design on its wheels no matter how hard I tried they would not go onto the wheels
they would not even turn after assembly.....not meant to...so all the trying resulted in a crushed passenger side strut and plastic axle, and a severley bent rear strut...so all the parts when back into the box and into a closet...I will probably use the body to practice painting and polishing....what a piece of shit the AMT wheel system is, all of the parts where so flimsy...:rocket: :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :crying: :greenchai :monkeypis

Alright u gave me hope....a little....i went to the closet and pulled it out...i tore off the rear suspension...fixed it and glued it back together...it looks pretty good and i got the tires on :rolleyes: so we will see....the front is a different story...everything was torn off and the struts pushed into the wheels with alot of force, they went in one is not on so well....the whole paint job is messed up, i will have to brush paint touch it up...and the front drive assembly will have to be glued with the car turning to the right no straight driving for this Lexus......

You should chrome it.
Looking at it from the first picture, it looks like brass, but the second picture looks like wood, maybe because it has those lines in the direction of the grain in a piece of wood. And theres the bumps in it.
What kit is that?

Hopefully you lkearned a good lesson from all this. Test fit every thing before any paint ing is done. Wheels and ride height should always be checked and corrected ahead of time. Glue the suspensin together with white glue and see how it sits. Strut type suspension is easy to make and fix. Just use some aluminum tubing for the upright part of strut. I have even had to modify a few Tamiya kits to get them to sit right. I don't trust any thing straight out of the box.

That's a S2000. I guess cause I brush painted it that got it looking like wood. It's suppose to look used and heated, so Chrome would be wrong.

Painting it solid bronze, then spraying it with X-19 smoke/X-26/27 clear red/orange or clear yellow/blue might give better results

YOu said it was an AMT kit, they are known for their bad fitting, so if it doesn't work for you, try a Tamiya or Aoshima kit, they should fit much better.
Painting still is something you'll have to master, just like me :D but it'll worked out very well.
