Front end rattling

Hope someone can relay any information on this. I am experiencing a rattling on the front end, either side, sometimes one or both sides on my 2001 Hoe, 92,000 miles. Mostly heard going over uneven areas in the road. It seems different than the infamous steering clunk while turning, but maybe. Been awhile since the intermediate shaft has been greased, just sounds different than the clunk.I have checked lower and upper control arms, ball joints and all seems tight. Shocks appear good, no continious bounce, they're not that old. Some shade tree mechanic old boy indicated that the stabilzer bar link bushings are bad, don't know just thought someone may of have a similiar experience.

Upper shock mounts on this truck have been modified as per a tech bulletin for front end noises. Check with your dealer for the info.

Well, it turn out to be the internediate steering shaft. I known the service rep for years, but at 92,000 miles he had a hard time justifying a reduce rate. Anyway the dealer gave me the shaft to the tune of $220.00. He was able to get me 10% off because it's been in there twice for them to grease the shaft over the years, I guess they were greasing me then too. My, thoughts is GM should hone up to it and say, we made a inferior sterring shaft and at least suck a little bit more. Oh, well........Life is too sort.....
