HELP parking lights won't go out

I have a 2000 silverado (new body style). My parking lights and taillights stay on when the truck is turned off. I took the headlight switch and relay out and they are still on. Does anyone know what to try next? Is there a relay or switch for the alarm system that could be stuck? If so where is the alarm and relays? Thanks

Try turning off the alarm maybe. I'm not really sure what to tell you other than to take it in to your mechanic.

If it's a factory alarm, it should be able to be progammed... then you could program it to activate only when you use the remote. Consult your owners manual. If that doesn't work, locate the fuse for this circuit in the fusebox and pull it out... see if the lights go out. It should be labeled "Park Lamps" or "LT Turn / RT Turn". Also check the "Hazard" light fuse. If all checks out okay, try disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery for 30 seconds then reconnect... This might correct the electrical glitch. You might want to also remove the front and rear lense assemblies and check the bulbs and sockets. Make sure they're free of any debris and that water hasn't leaked in there causing a short or that particular part of the circuit to be grounded. Hope this helps.
