alright... so ive read as many no start threads as i could find and still cant figure out my problem. so anyways... i was going to work one day and lost pressure in my clutch but still made it to my bosses house. i let the car sit there for a few days until i could get the race trailer. then it wouldnt start... now ive let it sit for a few months and i have tried everything. ive got fire and air... and as far as i can tell ive got gas. it sounds kinda pathedic when i try to start it tho. i can get it to crank but not fire. do i have low compression? ive put a little oil in the cylinders and it still sounds the same. i dunno what else to do. please help!

I seem to be having the same problem with my 86' RX-7, getting spark air and fuel up atleast past the filter. starts to fire then shuts down.
One thing the book says to check is a resistance relay on my car it is in the front passenger side of the engine compartment under the air filter the resistance should be between 5-7 ohm.
anything that you have checked or any suggestions i would greatly appreciate:) Thanks!

Don't know if this will help, but I throw a few ideas out there.
- New spark plugs (NGK) helped me significantly, Mine were some other brand and didn't look bad, kind of average, but changing them out with new NGKs made my life much easier. Make sure they are dry and you aren't flooded thou, cause these thing won't unflood themselves.
- Fuel filter seems to catch a lot of people too.
- Trialing coil will shut off fuel as a precaution if it is not operating correctly. I think you can run a little longer than a couple seconds thou.
- Air flow meter will also cut the fuel if it doesn't sense air. But I think this too will take more than just a couple seconds to happen. You can bypass the air flow sensor by jumpering the 2 prong connector on the front passenger strut tower (I think it is yellow). This will allow fuel to flow no matter what the sensor reads.
- If you have a manual tranny a pull start is usally a good bet to get it started as well.
