Problem with glass

Hi,

Need your advice. How can I remove scratches from the glass? I tried to sanding this with 2000 paper but no result. Have you any other ideas?

I always use a little Tamiya rubbing compound to remove fine scratches from my glass parts.That looks like quite a deep scratch though with a little patience I think you should be able to remove it.

Unfortunately, that's not a scratch. That's where two masses of molten plastic met in the mold during casting, and they didn't fully combine. I don't think there's any way to remove it, no matter how much you polish.

Many thanks for response. That's sad, I have a two kits from Fujimi and both have a same defect of glass parts.

But you may be able to replace the part by cutting the same one in a rodoide sheet... :)
I think it will be possible as it's not a too much curved or complicated part for what I see of it.

Yeah, what Phil sed. Carefully cut the side window off to 'roll it down', or replace it with some flat clear plastic sheet.

That looks like a scratch to me. Sometimes you really have to start out with a more aggressive grit to get them out, then go to finer paper & polishing cloths, finally Novus 2 and 1.

That's a weld-line, and you can't remove it by sanding (fairly common in Fujimi kits, but does happen in Tamiya kits, too).

Since you have two kits, cut that portion off, and use it as a master for thermo-forming (like heat-and-smash method or vacuum-forming) and make window parts for both kits. That'll save you some time.
