Hi. I have a chance to buy a 1991 3000gt vr-4 for 5400 dollars, for when i go off to college. I dont wanna get hosed, so iw as wondering if yall could help me. What kind of things do i need to look out for when i check this car out? Like what is prone to be bad, and would be a good reason for them to sell it and not tell anybody about the defect? 5400 dollars seems kinda low, so im a bit leary. Is this a normal price for a 91? I imagine the mileage is kinda high, how long will these engines last with a litlle bit of hard driving, but good maintenance. Any help yall could give would be appreciated

DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

Something is VERY, VERY, VERY, Wrong....

These are very tempremantal cars, they need alot of love and attention, you can't just fill'er up with gas and just go...very high maintenace cost's, and if your going to school and this is your daily driver, your up shit creek...

If you want to get a VR4, wait until you can afford a good one with good mileage. REMEMBER, this is a SUPERCAR... It originally retailed at $45,000, parts and service is EXPENSIVE and not many people, even DEALERS now how to work on them... I have owned my 94 VR4 for about 3.5 years... and am very active in the 3000gt community. I do all repair work myself.

You will be in a WORLD of hurt if you buy that thing. Spend your money on a used DSM turbo (Eclipse/Talon/Laser), you should be able to find a great quality DSM, with LOW miles. And if you want it to be fast...those cars are VERY IN-expensive to modify, and are very reliable. (They have the Lancer EVO engine inside)

PLEASE, trust me...you don't want to buy that car... I hope one day you can get a good quality VR4, but don't get duped into a raw deal
