1989 Ford F 150 Fuel System Problems

Truck Sat 2 years, replaced engine, it ran for about a month then it quit. Replaced dual function reservoir, low pressure fuel pump in rear tank. Truck runs till fuel is out of reservoir then you have to take it apart and reprime and it runs again. Any ideas what I can do???
