Transmission Problems!

I have a 2002 model Ford Taurus. Transmission light indicator alluminates when driven on high speed. The car starts vibrating. when the car slows down the indicator turns off and everything returns back to normal. Please help?

The transmission light you are referring to is the check engine light. Go to major parts chain houses(Autozone, Pep Boys) and they will read the codes for you. Please post the EXACT code number back here and we can help you.

Seems like it could be an issue with the torque converter, but as way2old suggested, get the codes read.
I don't have specific familiarity with the 2002 Taurus, but the 2002 and 2004 Lincoln LS actually does have a "Check Transmission" light on the dash. If your 2002 Taurus is similar, the diagnostic codes read by a chain auto parts store may not display any transmission faults. Those will need to be read by a professional scan tool.

The check transmission light is a gear with an exclamation point in the center.
