Cold Air Intake - GM v. others

I was looking at some accessory parts from GM Parts Direct and came accross
GM's version of a Performance Cold Air Intake for my Silverado.

See: GM Parts Direct Cold Air Kit (http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm?singlepart=1&AddPartNumber=17801346&partnumber=17801346)

What the description states is, "The free-breathing air filter does not require oil, which can interfere with computer sensors." Has oil been a problem with other kits? I'm in the market for a good kit, but don't want more problems down the road.:shakehead

Any comments?

I have a K&N on my 05 and haven't had any problems. The only people I've heard of that did was because they used way too much oil. If you oil it right (which isn't very hard) you'll be ok. Although I have to say that the GM kit does look pretty sweet with the chrome look.

Wow, not only is that $100 more than a K&N FIPK, but, IIRC it is for thenew '07's

They had something about that a couple of weeks ago on Trucks!

Get a K&N or an S&B airfilter, they both required to be cleaned and reoiled but it's not that hard and it's a good thing to do on a Sunday. If you want an air intake that uses a dry filter look at AEM's Brute Force, it's a really good intake for performance.
