Blower motor clicking noise

When I first start my 96 there is a clicking noise under the dash glovebox. It does not seem to be the fan motor, seems more of a vacuum actuator slipping or something. Only lasts for 10-15 seconds. Anyone have a fix for this?

If you're convinced it's not the blower fan then try this:

"Start the van and turn on the blower. Simultaniously push the top and bottom wiper buttons on the left side of the ventilation control panel for 5 seconds. All the lights on the panel will light up. Then two lights on the left side will alternately flash for about two minutes and you'll hear the ventilation modes cycle. When just the top light on the left side slowly flashes push that button and you're done. All lights should be out and you should be back to normal. Restart the van a few times and make sure. This is the ventilation control calibration test and it resets the ventilation system computer."

Sorry so long to reply. Found noise to be a motor/gearbox mounted under glovebox duct work. It has some teeth stripped off a gear. This thing changes position of a door inside. I think its the door for the recirculation. Have not figured out how it exactly works yet, but does need to be replaced. RIP thanks for the vac. proceedure, thats really slick.

Your best bet will probably be a junkyard. The dealer will probably tell you you have to buy half the car to get the part. By all means though give them a try. Let us know how you make out. Cheers.
