Hi everyone
I have a problem with my 2000 gc, after getting my abs system diagnosed by the dealer they told me the left front sensor is causing my light to come on. They also told me that if I replace the sensor myself, the light will remain on unless the clean the codes. Is there a way to clear the codes myself by disconnecting the battery or any other way. I can handle replacing the sensor but if I have to take it in to clear the codes than there is no sense in doing the work myself but I would like to save the $150 they need for this. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Leo

My book says the Amber light will go off if the fault that caused it is cured. However the CAB(Controller Antilock Brake) may latch in a code that will not be cleared unless you have a scan tool or until 3500 miles or 255 ignition key cycles which ever occurs first. Disconnecting the battery will not clear certain codes. If it was mine, I would make sure the system is actually working by braking hard on a slippery surface and see if the ABS kicks in.

Ditto plus call AutoZone and ask if they can reset ABS lights. I know they download and reset DRB fault codes free of charge but, not sure about ABS. Let us know.
