v6 engine ?

i was wondering if for one, is the block the same on the gm 2.8l 3.1l and the 3.4l. if it is then what is the difference? i was led to believe that it was the head and intake size? any answers apprieciated.:confused:

Heads and intake are different from year to year. Early isn't compatible with late and vice versa.
They are the same engine family, so with differences in bore and stroke they are very similar. FWD is not easily interchangeable with RWD since the blocks are cast externally differently depending on where the starter is and what motor mounts they use.
