keyless remote???

got a quick question..i have a 98 3000gt..when i bought my car i didnt get any remotes with it but ive looked behind the rear quarter panel before and there is the keyless remote box there..does that mean i can hook a remote up? also..on ebay they have all these remotes up there saying there directly for 97, 98 3000gts http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=7995959279&rd=1,1 ..is that what the factory one looks like, and would it work??? or how about this one..it says its directly from a 98 3000gt http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=250086124767&rd=1,1 ..im just confused as to what one is for my car..ive called the dealer..they want 180$ and there isnt a mitsubishi dealer to close to me anyways...any help would be nice..thanks

No they dont. Thats DSM remotes.

I can get them and program them at the work.. any dealership should be able to do that.

For all 93, 94, and 95 and some 96 and 97 Two button PN MB920014

For some 96 and 97 Three button PN MR207969
The numbers are:

Note: The two remotes and or reveivers above will work in either application

For some ,97 all 98 and all 99 Three button PN MR368851

Note:I took apart a 97 SL that had no receiver, the plug was there. Must have been when they started cutting costs.

You can put the later receiver in the earlier car and it will work all but panic.
I'm sure I can run a wire and trigger the alarm with this, but there is no wiring diagram for this circuit in the resources I have. So you would have to use a meter and check the receiver pins while activating panic. Hopefully it is a grounding circuit so the hatchback switch wire would work.

These are claimed to work but do not work it may be possible to swap the reciever remote combo :

GQ43VT6T They also claim this is a 3000gt remote. To date I have not seen one car that has this #. Can anyone help out with this?

Thats what Dave posts all the time over on 3si. He knows his shit when it comes to the electronics on these cars.
