So my friend works for a company that stores and details all of GM's specialty cars (yeah i know, sweet job) and he gets to be around all of the classic and new cars. He's driven the new camaro a few times, said it sounded great and was pretty sweet. He recently (like this week) flew out to Cali for a show and they had the new camaro hard top and convertable along.

I'm not a fan of the "new designs". It looks like GM is trying to follow Chrysler's styling cues on their front ends. They are too thick (from top to bottom) and don't look aerodynamic in the least, too flat and blunt. I'm afraid I'll have to pass on the new Camaro.

Overall I like it, but I agree that the body is too thick and the cabin area is not proportioned to it. But we'll see what it looks like when it comes out in 09.

i love the look of it, in my opinion its very muscular looking. i plan on getting one when they are first released.

Must've really liked it to say it twice!

I like the new body, not in LOVE with it, but I do like it better than the old/new mustang, charger, etc. I just can't stand the rims and the tiny tires.

Good luck getting one of the new ones... dealers will probably have a hefty premium on them.

must be a sweat job. i like the new camaro except for the rear facia, looks too much like a vette. needs to be more like the flat rear facia of the first gen with rectangular tail lights. i hope to see the conv concept this year at the gm nationals. heres the pics i took of the silver concept back in june;

im going to wait till 2010 or 2011 to get one, im thinking as the GTO the first year people will be asking why it didnt have this and that, and the second year they listen and do all the stuff thats gonna make the car really cool!

i'm no big fan of the new concept either. but that convertible is tight as hell!!!
I hadnt seen that before.

i appreciate the car's new, stlyish, different looks but I think they need a different interior instead of that love-it-or-hate-it dashboard (im on the hate-it side).

and they should hide the headlights like the RS model (?) on the later 1st gens.

i think there is gonna be an RS package with hideaway headlights

I like the rear-end and the interior a lot, but i'll have to agree that the front end is way too thick, at least for my taste. it doesn't seem like they could've made it any less aerodynamic.

I can tell that you've never seen it in person. The front end in actuality is almost TOO much of a point... not blunt at all. Pics just make it look that way.

The funny thing is how on every forum, most people who say they don't like it haven't seen it, then once they see it their opinions change

I fell in love with this concept from the time I laid Eyes on her. Sure she won't look the same when she rolls of the line in 09' but I know I want one in my garage.

I personally talked to two high-ups in the Camaro project, and they said that the only way they can tell the production car (they're running test mules around in Austrailia) from the concept is to have the two next to each other

damn, thats pretty damn sweet!! how many cars look just like the concept??? thats gotta be the first. have any of u seen how the 4th gens (lt1) were supposed to look? it was a hott mess lol....glad they didnt go with that!

Instead of likening it to the GTO concept, I'd say a better example (and much more recent) is the Solstice concept. All of a sudden "hi we have this concept" then next thing you know "yea that concept is at your local dealership now for sale"
