Performanc Engine...

Hi,

I am looking for a performance engine that i can put into my 2000 Grand AM GT1 4spd auto. I've looked at various websites like Crate Engines, but from what I've looked at I haven't had any luck. I would fix up my own engine, but I don't think it's worth it right now cause it doesn't run the smoothest, plus I would rather start off with an engine with more power...:evillol:

So if anyone knows where I could find something like this please let me know...thanks

Stage 2 package... that will get you cruisin pretty well (ask xero... he has stage 2 mods [not necessarily from MMS... not sure tho] and rapes mustangs like no tomorrow)

Best thing to do tho is get a faster car like a GP GTP or something though :) But if you want to make a sleeper, rock on!!!! :D

You wont find any performace engines anywhere.
Probly because this car was discontinued as of 05'.

You best bet is to just rebuild or build up the one you have.
Thier are places to purchase some performance parts, but they are not cheap. :grinno:

Milzymotors (http://milzymotorsports.com/) is one of the biggest perform parts distributor around. He sells internals and PCM upgrades.
Parts for your car (http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=PFYC&Category_Code=GA) also has a few Mods.

And thier are headers but I forget the link to SS Headers.

Ya Jim with all the ca$h I have in the SE, I could of had two V8's :banghead:

I will say I do have the fastest GA in my area.
Though I heard some guy about 100miles south has one that's runnin a 13-14PSI turbo.
Street legal and in the 12's :rolleyes:

I think the only thing I dont have thats listed on my Cardomain page is the after market MAF.
Was wasting fuel..

Its pretty dirty right now, winter and all that road salt :rolleyes:

As you can see the intake isnt as shinny, due to having it off 6X :shakehead

You cant realy see my headers but they are coverd by the stock heat shields.
Which that is covering the nasty looking heat wrap I put on to control the under hood temps.
Ambient temps droped by about 100-150deg under thier.

I am in the process of Modifing the Stock MAF.
Cutting out the center piece and opening it up a bit. :naughty:

Very nice my GA is white, I will try something similar maybe red under the hood and red interior plastic for the same parts. I was also thinking to use white for inside but It would get dirty easy. Quick question would LIM from 98 GTP with supercharger fit on my GA 97?

I highly doubt it,

that would be a BIG NO !
THe GTP is a 3.8 your 97 is a 3.1.

Would be nice if it did though.

If you bought performance parts (say, from MMS), wouldn't you still need forged pistons too (assuming you ran high lvls of NOS or boost someday) ???

You realy wouldnt need forged pistons unlesss you are running over 8-10psi. And or racing it at the track repeatedly.

Plus if you found the performace parts,
you better have a credit card or about $3-5K :grinyes:

I will have about 4-5 grand to spend after the summer is over... but I don't know if i want to save it or if I want to work on my car or if I want to get an AWD car... decisions decisions :p I could put a downpayment on a subie wrx, buy a talon tsi outright, make my car better, or save for a master's degree/house/whatever... aghhhh!!!

If I hadnt spent that much already I probly would modify the motor a little :sly:

Then I'd blu print & balance everything.
With what was left, if not already in the negative zone,
I'd get the 4T65E(GTP) trans mission to work.

Then after I got it running well, I'd do the 15(or more)PSI turbo Boost :ylsuper:

Then I would be at the track every week end...

....eating Stangs and all those tiny imports :gay:
