My olds achieva: about 2 days after my check engine light came on my low coolant light came . Found out that the engine cooling fan is not running, but when I turn the a/c on the fan starts. If i turn off the a/c and turn the heater back on the fan stops. Why? Would it be the coolant sensor?
Thanks everyone is really great on this site, and are so helpful! :smooch:

Are you experiencing overheating? What is the temperature gauge reading? If you are losing coolant it has to be going someplace. Either an external or internal leak. It is normal for the fans to turn on with the A/C on. Otherwise they are not supposed to turn on until engine operating temperature gets to around 220 degrees F.
