I dont pay tax if I pay for the price my store sells it.

Stealing a car and taking it to a chop shop would be easier i think. lol

A friend of mine already has his own MK. II. i wouldn't be at all surprised if his company pays for a MK. III for him to use.

those cameras are hellishly expensive. i'm more than happy with my Konica-Minolta 5D, so i have no plans of getting another D-SLR for quite a while.

it's ok, we've got plenty. everything from ultra wide-angle to telephoto to fixed-focal macro lenses for the Minoltas. my dad's been using them for years, so he has a number of Dynaxs and has a 7D, while my mum and i both have 5Ds. we've got enough camera gear for the meanwhile.

I don't think you will get a lot of reaction about a new camera on a car forum, but I can assure you the camera forums are all buzzing!

:)

We are...but I know we have a lot of people that take good pics of cars and stuff. Still, that's a freakin' fast camera.

Damien - some shots taken with the Sony Alpha 100 DSLR, if you're interested... went alpha as I am still shooting with a KM wetfilm SLR and can use common glass...

did you know the Alpha is basically a Dynax 5D with a new body and 10mp?

on the upside, there'll be a huge flood of new lenses for minolta cameras, Sigma are making more with the minolta/sony fitting.

ummm yeah... althiugh it does have steady shot, a new image processing engine and different dust protection. The Dynax connection was important - I have a Dynax 5 film camera so I keep a pile of lenses in the meantime....

steady shot is just Minolta's AS anti-shake with a new name. i don't know about the processing engine. i don't think my 5D has any dust protection aside from me being careful and cleaning it regularly.

I had a minolta film and thought about the alpha but i wouldnt have done me any good. i already had an XT so it be a step down almost cause i was deciding alpha or 30D. Mainly cause of the lenses I had. i went with the 30D. I'm not big on the alpha. Their range of glass is small and not worth it. PLus, stupid speedlite fitting is sony only.

http://www.sony.net/Products/dslr/lenses.html

that's not small. not to mention the wide selection of minolta, tamron, Sigma etc lenses to fit.

Damien

be a nice thought wouldnt it to convert? well, if you have anything besides a canon. lol

Part of the reason I went alpha was the 75-300mm F4-5.6 APO tele that is sitting in the camera kit from my Dynax...

we have one of those. don't forget it's 112.5-450mm equivalent on our cameras, 75-300mm on a 35mm camera.

excellent lens, i've used ours a lot. takes excellent photos. (ours: i use my dad's lens, i've only "have" the 18-70mm that came with my 5D)

i might buy a 2x teleconverter for mine and have a 900mm equivalent.

Damien

but remember the f/ is raised with a tele. that's why i'm getting a 70-200 F2.8 and then a doubler will leave th f/ at 5.6 instead of...70-300 willbe like F8 at 70 alone.
