Hi
I have a engine that starts up fine no ticking drive 10 miles to work starts ticking seems like it should be the other way around, truck sat up for 2 years before I bought it,have put 5 thousand miles on it since.Thanks for any help

Sounds like you just need the valves adjusted. Also while the valve cover is off check and make sure the oil passages to the head are clear and not gunked up. Mine were stopped up and it caused the cam to lock up in the head.

just break the nuts loose that are on top of the lifters, take your flat head screwdriver and snug up the set screw then tighten them back up, she will be purring like a kitten after that, just be sure you do it at the right "clocking" of the cam. Haynes manual says to use a feeler gauge to set, I did and it still "clicked". I did it "my way" and I could hardly tell the motor was running, it was very quiet and running very well. Good luck.
