I've been in the market for a new DSM ever sence I payed my 96 off, so I've had my fingers out to the local DSM community. A friend of mine just got off the phone with his firend in the millitary who has been deployed 7 years who has decited to sell his 295 mile 99 black automatic GSX. When my buddy called me, I immeditly called the guy and left a message. I'm waiting for him to call me back and then I'll be taking the rest of the day off work, and headed up to the secret location to take a look at this thing that has been in his garrage for 7 years..

thats right. 295.0 miles..

Dude. You a-hole.

I dont know man, I would snatch that shit up quick. Then I would take your manual 96 and swap the shit into the 99. Hell, I would switch all your stuff into the 1999 and sell the 96 near stock.

I don't really believe him, really.... How can you believe somthing like that? But if it's true, I'm be an owner the second I confirm it. I'm a auto loan officer, If I can't secure financing for myself on this, I shouldn't be allowed to breathe

Why would he sell it? He's bound to come home at some point, what more incentive to stay alive than a '99 black beauty with not even 300 miles on it waiting for you...

His friend needs to talk him out of it. Seriously. If it was my friend, I would be bitch slapping him silly until he refused to sell it atleast until he got home and had a chance to put a few miles on it.

Hey Mr. Auto Loan Officer... that's a bad idea to buy that car...

On another note, I need a loan for about $9,500.

This is just what I've been hearing via "word of mouth" from my buddie who got the phone call from the gentalman who is selling the car. I don't care why he's selling it. I'm not even going to speculate why... all I'm going to do is show up with a check and tow it dirrectly to the Mitsubishi Delership for a inspection..

Flush the fluids and it should be good to go. I mean seriously, if it only has 295 miles, nothing was even broken in. Why the hell would you not want that car?

crunchymilk55

cause a lot of seals in that motor and likely to be hardened, or rotted

I say go for it, but there is no way it's going to run as well as it did in 98.

Do you know where he stored it? if it was climate controlled?

I don't see how the seals and crap in the motor could be in any worse condition than if the car had been driven for the last seven years, unless it weathered the elements. But it seems like it's been stored in a garage for 7 years. I don't see why it wouldn't start right up.

It's only 7 years, not an eternity.

crunchymilk55

It can't be just 7 years. The car came out in 1998, so it's at least 9 years old.

I think he should get it, but a lot of parts will probably need to be replaced. Hopefully it wasn't stored in a humid place. Let us know when you see it scott.

Crunchy, you're just trying to steer him away from it so you can get the car, you jealous bastard! :p

I agree. I'd rather buy a car that's been sitting (sheltered from the elements) with those sort of miles, than a daily driver with over a hundred thousand on it.

Oh and yeah...that is unbelievable....two hundred and ninety-five. I have to spell it out to believe it! Just like that red 1st gen VR4 with 18K miles on it...but this takes the cake.

Don't let it mystify anyone yet. As far as I'm concerned it's only a rumor. I trust the guy who spoke with the owner. He's calling him tonight in Iraq to see if it's ok for us to go up to his house and have his wife show me the car.. I'll keep you guys in the loop.. It's 8:29pm right now, and 7:29am in Iraq. From what I understand he's 32, and his wife hates the car and wants the space in the Garage. We'll see..

Bitch. The garage is the man's space. She can have the house and put up all the frilly little curtains and whatever, but when it comes to the garage, she stays the hell out and whatever car I want in there stays in there. Period.

The only exception is if she wants to help work on it or tinker. Or entertain me while doing such activities.

Not really... My Firebird sat in a garage for 6 years before I bought it. I never had any problems with it either until just this year... And I've been driving it for about 7 years now...

**EDIT**
Oh yeah, and you better buy that unicorn when you see it.

I think that it would be worth having the problems, he'll be buying basically a new car for half the price. BONUS!!
