Diesel wont start?need advise

hi all my astra 1.7 tb 96 model will not start,it was in the cold for 8 weeks and not driven?when i tryed to start her up the other day it ran for 10 seconds then stopped.every thing worked fine before and it started no problem every time.....im trying to do some researce on it bit not finding much info so any advise welcome....cheers jon
